Colorado Avalanche Minnesota Wild Semyon Varlamov Save 4 October 2018

CENTENNIAL, Colo.--After opening the 2018-19 season with a 4-1 win over the Minnesota Wild on Thursday, the Colorado Avalanche returned to its practice ice at Family Sports Center for a quick session.
After the session, Bednar noted that he will dress the same lineup as he did in the Avs' victory over the Wild in Colorado's next contest on Saturday against the Philadelphia Flyers at Pepsi Center.

Semyon Varlamov will start against the Flyers and goaltender Philipp Grubauer will be in net on Tuesday versus the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Varlamov was between the pipes against Minnesota and stopped 20 of the 21 shots he faced in the win. It was his 400th career NHL contest and his eighth opening-night start for the Avalanche.
The team ran through special teams drills on Friday for about 30 minutes. Out of the 21 players on the active roster, defensemen Tyson Barrie and Patrik Nemeth were the only two skaters not on the ice.
"Maintenance days, we are just keeping them off the ice today because they are going to get some treatment and be ready to go for tomorrow," said head coach Jared Bednar.
