The Colorado Avalanche will face off against the San Jose Sharks for the first of two matchups this week. The Avalanche are 1-0 in the season series so far after they defeated the Sharks 6-0 back on March 7 at Ball Arena.


LAST TIME OUT

The Avs took down the Dallas Stars in a key Central Division matchup Saturday night 5-2. Center Nathan MacKinnon found the back of the net twice, forward Mikko Rantanen scored his 49th goal of the season and forwards Valeri Nichushkin and Logan O'Connor also scored. Goaltender Alexandar Georgiev turned away 26 of the 28 shots that came his way.
The Sharks routed the Arizona Coyotes 7-2 Saturday evening. Center Noah Gregor recorded his first NHL hat trick, centers Logan Couture, Kyle Criscuolo and Jacob Peterson and forward Danil Gushchin all also scored for the Sharks. Goalie Kaapo Kahkonen stopped 29 of the 31 shots he faced.
