Cale Makar pregame warmup Game 4 Calgary Flames playoffs 2019 April 17

SAN JOSE, Calif.--The Colorado Avalanche looks to tie its Second-Round playoff series against the San Jose Sharks this afternoon at SAP Center.
San Jose scored four unanswered goals to win 5-2 in the first game of the best-of-seven set on Friday night.

Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar said he won't make any changes to his game personnel, but his defensive pairings will look a bit different. Puck-moving blueliners Samuel Girard and Cale Makar will be paired together to start the game, while Erik Johnson will play with Ian Cole. The duo of Tyson Barrie and Nikita Zadorov is expected to remain the same.
Goaltender Philipp Grubauer, who stopped 22 shots in the Round 2 opener, has started every game of the postseason for Colorado and will once again guard the pipes.
Sven Andrighetto, Mark Barberio, Ryan Graves and Patrik Nemeth will be the Avs' healthy scratches.
Below is the Avalanche's projected lineup for Game 2. All forward combinations and defensive pairings are subject to change.
