Rapid Recap: Stars 3, Avalanche 1
The Colorado Avalanche finished its six-game win streak with a 3-1 loss to the Dallas Stars on Friday in the first of three meetings between the two teams this season.
Dallas started the scoring with two quick goals from Joe Pavelski within the first two minutes of the contest
The Stars notched the only goal of the second period with a shot from Denis Gurianov.
Cale Makar finished the scoring for the contest, netting Colorado's only goal.

THE GOALS
1st Period
1:12 DAL (0-1): Joe Pavelski passed the puck to John Klingberg from behind the net to the top of the zone. Klingberg relayed the puck towards the net for Jason Robertson to take a quick shot that Pavelski was then able to tip in.
1:31 DAL (0-2): In preventing an Avalanche clearing attempt, Roope Hintz keeps the puck in the zone for Joe Pavelski to take a quick shot blocker side and find the back of the net.
2nd Period
14:26 DAL (0-3): PPG, Miro Heiskanen's shot from the right side was blocked for Denis Gurianov to find in front of the net then shoot past Darcy Kuemper.
3rd Period
16:39 COL (1-3): Cale Makar takes a shot from the top of the zone through traffic to make it past Jake Oettinger.

STAT OF THE NIGHT
With Cale Makar's goal in the third period, he has scored a goal in five consecutive games and breaks the franchise record for the longest goal streak by a defenseman. The only other NHL defenseman to achieve the same feat in the past decade is Roman Josi from Dec. 16-23, 2019.
NOTEBOOK
Aside from one preseason contest in Dallas this season, this is the first road trip to Texas for the Avalanche since Dec. 28, 2019. The Avalanche will travel to Dallas one more time this season and will host Dallas once at Ball Arena. Colorado is scheduled for 11 back-to-back sets this season, the first of which started with this loss to the Stars and will wrap up in Denver tomorrow against the Nashville Predators. Colorado ends its win streak at six games, which was the longest active streak in the NHL. During this streak, the Avalanche had outscored its opponents 36-15. Nazem Kadri finishes his career high point streak at 10 games (6 goals, 15 assists), also ending his assist streak at eight games. Valeri Nichushkin ends a four-game goal streak, the longest in his career. The Avalanche have 19 goals scored by defensemen this season, the most in the NHL.
On this day in Avalanche history (Nov. 26, 2011), Stefan Elliott became the first defenseman in Avalanche history to score the game winning goal in his NHL debut in the team's victory over the Edmonton Oilers, 5-2.
ROSTER REPORT
Kiefer Sherwood is back in the starting lineup. Sherwood's last appearance was Nov. 22 in the home contest against the Ottawa Senators.
INJURY UPDATE
Nathan MacKinnon is expected to join the team on their two-week road trip at the beginning of December, after being out with a lower-body injury for the past three weeks. J.T. Compher continues to be out for an upper-body injury. Stefan Matteau is still out after sustaining a lower-body injury on Oct. 16. Bowen Byram is under concussion protocol and will continue to be evaluated. Both Martin Kaut and Pavel Francouz are considered week-to-week.
