Rapid Recap: Avalanche 4, Kraken 3
The Colorado Avalanche earn another comeback victory in the Seattle Kraken's first visit to Colorado with a 4-3 final.
The Avalanche opened the scoring with a goal from Nicolas Aube-Kubel, but the Kraken responded before the period's end.

The Kraken continued the effort with two more goals in the second. The Avalanche responded towards the end of the period for Nicolas Aube-Kubel's second goal of the night.
Devon Toews secured the equalizer halfway through the third period. With only five minutes left in the game Nazem Kadri earned the game winner.
The Avalanche will face the Kraken one more time this season in Seattle.
THE GOALS
1st Period
5:50 COL (0-1) - Alex Newhook and Logan O'Connor brought the puck into the zone, with a couple back and forth passes in front of the net Nicolas Aube-Kubel found an opening and landed his shot on net.
9:16 SEA (1-1) - PPG Jordan Eberle took a quick diagonal shot from the left side, with a rebound and a tap in from Marcus Johansson the puck landed in the back of the net.
2nd Period
4:49 SEA (2-1) - Jared McCann gave a swiping shot from the left boards, the puck went across Pavel Francouz and landed top shelf.
14:20 SEA (3-1) - Jamie Oleksiak took a shot from the blue line straight on net for Colin Blackwell to tip the puck in.
17:00 COL (3-2) - In a rush on net, Andre Burakovsky's shot rebounded for Nicolas Aube-Kubel to find and drive the puck home.
3rd Period
11:47 COL (3-3) - Cale Makar took a wrist shot from the blue line, the puck bounced off Philipp Grubauer and Devon Toews was there to deflect the puck into the net.
14:17 COL (3-4) - Nazem Kadri brought the puck into the zone and went bardown for the goal.

The Colorado Avalanche extended the franchise record for consecutive home wins to 12. Nathan MacKinnon ends his point streak at 13 games (four goals, 20 assists), this was the longest active streak in the NHL. Cale Makar reached 15 goals in 27 or fewer games. Makar joins Boby Orr (20 games in 1974-1975 and 25 games 1973-1974) and Dave Ellett (23 games in 1988-1989) as NHL defensemen in this achievement.
On this day in Avalanche history (Jan 10. 1999), the team started its record 12 game win streak with a 3-2 overtime victory in Chicago.
ROSTER REPORT
Gabriel Landeskog enters NHL COVID protocol. Valeri Nichushkin comes back to the lineup after leaving the game on Dec. 16 with an upper-body injury. Jack Johnson also rejoins the squad after sustaining a lower-body injury in the game on Jan. 4.
INJURY UPDATE
Jacob MacDonald remains out with an upper-body injury he sustained on Dec. 12. Stefan Matteau is expected to be out for a few more weeks while he rehabs a lower-body injury from October 2021.
