Five with Five-Hole - Camp: Day Two

Camp: Day 2

  1. A noticeably leaner Jason Spezza had high-glove, bar-down, sicksnipe-a-palooza going in the morning session. Him was awesome. Him is awesome.

  2. Like a majestic rhino on the Serengeti, Victor E. Green roamed free in his natural Starsfan habitat (Gut-juggle move was mid season form too).

  3. Two Shades of Grey: By the look of Stephen Johns' grey practice jersey, he sweats...a lot. I also heard he killed it on the fitness test bike ride. So he's in awesome shape and displays supermanly diaphoresis. Old Spice corporate, take note.

  4. The two positions the Stars have built impressive depth at are defence and center. The d-corp remains brimming but that glut at center is being tested. Seguin, Eakin, Faksa, Dickinson, and now Shore (who left the ice early) are all now dealing with ailments. Ugh.

  5. The media cold-cuts spread was again on-point at HEB Center and much appreciated as sustenance on such a long hard day of sitting in seats watching young men work hard at their craft. Although, at the risk of being 'that guy'. For a second day in a row no onion dip for the chips, and no Grey Poupon. Tsk, tsk...

Yes, the struggle is indeed real.

*Also, Go you, beaver on the nickel, Canada!!! And don't you dare get sucked into the confusion of Sergei Bobrovsky's surname translation being "son of beaver" (that tidbit complements of Slava Malamud) He's no son of ours.
