Tim 1st Star Article

Tim Stützle was named the NHL First star of the Week for the week ending Feb. 19.

The National Hockey League announced today that Tim Stützle has been named the First Star of the week after tallying four goals and six assists for a whopping ten points while helping the team go 3-0-1.
In his third season with the Ottawa Senators, Stützle sits second on the team in scoring with 59 points, just behind captain, Brady Tkachuk . Just 51 games into his third campaign in the NHL, Stützle has already surpassed his career highs in goals and points with 26 and 59 respecitvely, and is only four assists away from surpassing his last season total of 36.
Looking to right the ship following a disappointing loss to the Edmonton Oilers, Stützle began the week by putting up a monstrous four point performance over the Calgary Flames. He capped the night off by providing the overtime winner. Following that outing Stützle told the media that he was underwhelmed with his play for most of the game. A feeling only a budding superstar like Stützle could feel after a four-point onslaught.
Next up when the Senators travelled to Long Island to take on the Islanders, Stützle stepped up again when it mattered most. Providing the Senators first goal to tie the game in he second period before providing the primary assist on Brady Tkachuk's goal to go ahead in the third. When the Islanders tied it up and it eventually went to as shootout, Stützle stepped up again potting his chance to help the Senators grab the win.
An unusually quiet game for Stützle against Chicago saw him only grab one assist while the Senators fell in overtime.
Stützle wrapped the week up with a three-point showing against St. Louis yesterday afternoon in front of the Senators fans at Canadian Tire Centre. Stützle fired the puck through traffic cross ice right onto Alex DeBrincat's stick in the second period to take give the Senators a 2-0 lead. Just six minutes later he tallied one of his own after putting on a slew of moves on a breakaway chance. In the third period when the Senators were up 5-0 and really looking to put the game out of reach, Stützle answered the call and potted his second of the game.
In this wild week Tim achieved a rare feat in scoring a regulation goal, an overtime goal and a shootout goal all in the same week. On top of that two of them were game winning goals. To say this guy is dangerous on the ice almost feels like an understatement.
Stützle through 51 games played:
2022-23: 59 points (26G - 33A)
2021-22: 36 points (14G - 22A)
The Senators are right back at it with a matinee affair against division rival and the league leading Boston Bruins.
