Dan and Marty are goin' Bald For Bucks again in 2023

The Buffalo Sabres are once again partnering with Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and their Bald for Bucks initiative throughout the month of March to raise funds for critical cancer research and patient-care programs.
As part of the effort, the Sabres and Roswell Park have released a limited-edition Bald for Bucks T-shirt. Donors who contribute $50 or more will receive the T-shirt.
Sabres studio analyst Martin Biron and play-by-play announcer Dan Dunleavy will be shaving their heads as part of the campaign.

"We are grateful for the generosity of the Buffalo Sabres, today and always. Their support of Bald for Bucks makes a real difference in cutting-edge cancer research and patient care at Roswell Park," Roswell Park President and CEO Candace S. Johnson, PhD said. "Together, we are showing our patients that they're not in this fight alone and that they have the support of the Western New York community."
For the Sabres' home game against the New York Rangers on March 31, Biron and Dunleavy will have their heads shaved live on the air during the broadcast on MSG.
This will be the sixth year in a row that Biron will have his head shaved on the air and the fifth consecutive year for Dunleavy.
Earlier this season, four Sabres players, including Casey Mittelstadt and Jacob Bryson, had their heads shaved in support of pediatric cancer patients.

"Everyday lives are forever changed when someone is told, 'You have cancer.' Bald for Bucks is like a sabre as we go to battle against cancer. It helps the experts at Roswell Park," Dunleavy said. "So, let's raise our sabres as Marty and I shave our heads along with many others who are fighting with us, for all of us.
"When my wife Brenda was told, 'You have cancer,' many things in our lives became foggy, while other matters were made very clear. The fog was fear creeping into our lives. The clearing started, to some degree, when we found out how many people cared and wanted to help. Bald for Bucks is our way to pay that care forward. So let's keep fighting to end cancer while supporting the patients who need it most."
Donations can be made online at Sabres.com/BaldForBucks. All money raised stays in Western New York, with the goal of accelerating promising research projects and supporting programs that assist patients during their cancer journey.

About Bald for Bucks
Bald for Bucks began in 2002 when Western New Yorker Cathleen George was being treated for cancer. Her brother, Tony, promised his sister that he would shave his head with her and remain bald until her hair grew back. Tony, a teacher at Lake Shore High School, brought this idea to his students and many offered to help. One student suggested they raise money and then do the shaving, and a fundraiser was born. In the years since the program was founded, thousands of participants across Western New York have joined forces to raise over $5 million to help find cures and save lives.
