The Buffalo Sabres were once again unable to generate any offense on the power play in the team's 5-1 loss to the Boston Bruins on Thursday at KeyBank Center.
Buffalo's power play went 0-for-5 with five shots after going 0-for-6 against Boston on Tuesday.
The Sabres have just one goal in 18 power-play opportunities against the Bruins in five games this season.
Arttu Ruotsalainen scored for the Sabres on Thursday. Dustin Tokarski stopped 32 Boston shots.
Brad Marchand, Matt Grzelcyk, David Pastrnak, Nick Ritchie and David Krejci were the Bruins' goal scorers. Jeremy Swayman made 29 saves. .

What happened

The Bruins struck first when Marchand pounced on a rebound in front for his 25th goal of the season with 7:24 left in the first period.
Buffalo tied the game 5:27 into the second period when Anders Bjork found Ruotsalainen for a cross-ice one-timer as Buffalo was completing a line change.
Boston regained the lead on Grzelcyk's long wrist shot from the point with 7:10 remaining in the second.
The Bruins pulled away with three goals in the third period.
Boston took a 3-1 lead when Pastrnak scored in the slot at the 4:55 mark of the third and then Ritchie put one in short side to make it 4-1 just 1:06 later.
Krejci redirected a shot that careened off the goal post with 1:58 left in regulation for Boston's fifth goal of the game.
