Ford Ice Center is committed to developing the hockey skills of both youth and adult hockey players or goaltenders of all abilities. Through a variety of hockey classes offered, such as Stick Spinning and Power Skating, our qualified hockey instructors can improve the skills of the novice, intermediate and advanced individual. See class descriptions below to find your perfect fit to further develop your hockey skills!
Attend classes consistently (3-4 weeks in a row) to see dramatic improvements in your skills.
Full equipment is recommended; however, helmet, gloves, stick and skates are the minimum required amount of gear.
Cost: Single Class $20 (Multi-Class Punch Pass: Four (4) for $60 or 10 for $120) Ask about the Preds season-ticket holder 20 percent discount for single class option!
Multi-class pass can be used for any of the classes below and do not need to be used consecutively. Pre-registration is recommended, but not required. Classes will be limited to the first 26 registered participants. Goalies are always free! STH discount for single class can only be applied at time of purchase in person or by phone only.

Stick Spinning is an intense 60-minute, on-ice session of puck handling drills for those who want to improve their feel with the stick while creating good habits at a high tempo. This class is open to both youth and adult hockey players/goaltenders of all levels and will positively impact a player's ability to control the puck while increasing their puck handling confidence.
Instructors will emphasize technique, stance, grip, footwork and utilizing peripheral. Skills will be taught in repetitions consisting of a stick handling skill, a shot and a short skating burst that last approximately the length of a typical shift (30-45 seconds). Muscle memory is key to mastering skills which is why we repeat each rep three to four times. Just like spinning class at a gym, you have the opportunity to be your best in a positive yet challenging and motivating environment. Goaltenders will work on the fundamental footwork necessary to stop the puck like Nashville Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne.
Stick Spinning is the best way to improve your hands while simultaneously progressing through a great anaerobic workout. These sessions will push your fitness limits to the max!

Want to see a significant increase in your technique, explosiveness, agility, balance and control?
Power skating focuses on each fundamental element of being the best and most efficient skater possible. The Power Skating class at Ford Ice Center is designed for hockey players of all ages and skill abilities. On a session by session basis, participants will practice a blend of drills to challenge his or hers endurance, coordination and footwork that is tailored to each skater's ability and skill level.
