Gray Line of Tennessee is a company of perseverance and innovation. As part of the fabric of Nashville and Middle Tennessee since 1973, Gray Line has weathered many challenges -- and 2020 is no exception. In early March, Gray Line's primary maintenance facility was hit hard by one of the tornadoes that touched down in Nashville. They were able to move to another facility temporarily, but the recent coronavirus pandemic has caused them to furlough much of their workforce.
The company is taking this time to make sure their fleet is in top shape. Since late March, the remaining team members have been taking turns washing and sanitizing buses and maintaining the 30 buses that are still in active service. They are also performing the required maintenance and inspection duties on the dormant vehicles. Gray Line of Tennessee is proud to partner with the Predators and looks forward to a time when they will once again serve Music City as the #1 authority in Nashville sightseeing, tourism and transportation.

Our William Grant & Sons family crest features the words "Stand Fast" - a commitment to keep our family and company values at the forefront even in the most challenging of times. One of these values has always been to support the communities where we live, where we work, and who have embraced and built our brands over five generations. With that in mind, we have built a comprehensive approach to supporting community and industry needs - both around the world and here in the US - highlighted by the following activities:
We have launched a company-wide initiative to support the on-trade that we have named "Stand Fast": Our global Stand Fast campaign is a multi-pronged relief effort to support the on-trade community, both in the immediate future and on an ongoing basis. In the US, we have established a fund to support this work, with an initial investment and with plans to grow that investment over time. Through this Stand Fast fund, we have already deployed contributions to the on-trade community in several ways: 1. A $100,000 donation to the USBG Bartender Emergency Assistance Program for COVID-19 relief efforts 2. A $100,000 fund spread across our US Sales team to support charitable initiatives in our local markets 3. A $100,000 initial funding of our bespoke "Get Bartenders Back to Work" program, where our Ambassador team will partner with out-of-work bartenders to collaborate on brand building initiatives 4. A $100,000 fund to support our Distributor and National Account partners and their charitable initiatives
Our Stand Fast campaign is a natural extension of our commitment to, our caring for and our creativity around our brand building partners in the on-trade, and is especially important at this time when such support is needed most. We hope that this campaign offers positive and pragmatic help as this key part of our industry rebuilds, and invite all of our partners to support our call to Stand Fast.
We are mass-producing ethanol and donating hand sanitizer to communities in need: William Grant & Sons has shifted production at three of our global distilleries to supply five million litres of ethanol and hand sanitizer, lending our workforce, our scale and our expertise to the essential work of protecting people around the world from the impact of the coronavirus.
Our Tuthilltown Distillery (New York) is producing, packaging and distributing hand sanitizer, making much needed donations to health care providers, first responders, families in need, and other community-oriented causes throughout New York. Beyond these donations, we are making hand sanitizer available at cost to others in need, providing much needed financial relief by what will represent a 50% reduction in costs vs. current in-market pricing.
In addition, our distilleries at Girvan (Scotland) and Tullamore (Ireland) are mass-producing ethanol for a range of hand sanitizer manufacturers, donating 100% of any profits back to support the community at this difficult time, and encouraging those manufacturers to do the same as we work together to alleviate the impact of the virus.
We will continue to work together as this crisis evolves: We are proud to be a part of the out-pouring of support that the spirits industry has already provided over the last several weeks, and are eager to work with our team and our business partners to provide a spark to ignite what our teams can accomplish together. Watch this space and join us as we find ways to #StandFast.
