Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith will be roommates during the 2026-27 San Jose Sharks season.
In a media interview, the Sharks star center said he and Smith have moved into a house together.
When asked who would do which chores in the house, Celebrini couldn't answer yet.
"We've got to figure that out," Celebrini said with a laugh.
Celebrini is moving out of Sharks legend and development coach Joe Thornton's house for the first time since he was drafted in 2024. Smith had spent the last two seasons living with fellow Sharks great Patrick Marleau.
"His family was so great to me," Celebrini said about the Thorntons. "Just being able to spend time with them and everything that they did for me. I couldn't be more grateful for them and having a home right when I got here. I think it helped me a lot. I'm just grateful to them for letting me live in their house for the last two years."
In July, Celebrini signed a five-year, $94 million contract extension with the Sharks.
Smith, 21, is also eligible to sign a contract extension this summer, and Celebrini hopes that his new roommate can be in San Jose Sharks teal for a long time with him.
"Everyone in our room hopes he's here for a long time," Celebrini said. “That's not really my business. I think that's something they've got to sort out, but I'm hoping it gets done."
