Horwitz took the ice looking sharp in his Penguins gear, then made it clear that he hasn’t missed a beat since his high school hockey days, showing off his stick handling skills while shooting at an open net.
“Put me through the practice, I’m ready,” Horwitz said to Malkin at the beginning of the social media video posted by the Pirates.
“I’m not the coach yet,” Malkin responded. “I’m still a good player.”
Horwitz played both baseball and hockey growing up in Maryland, up until college when he chose to pursue baseball.
During his high school hockey days, Horwitz played as a defenseman and led his team to two state titles on the ice.
