Sabres fans sing anthem

No audio, no problem in Buffalo.

Fans at KeyBank Center stepped up during the singing of “O Canada” before Game 5 of the Eastern Conference First Round on Tuesday after anthem singer Cami Clune’s microphone cut out.

Once the crowd realized what was going on, fans didn’t miss a beat filling in the words.

Clune eventually got a new microphone and sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” without a hitch.

While it’s uncommon for U.S. teams to sing the Canadian national anthem before games, the Sabres make an exception at every home game due to Buffalo’s proximity to the Canadian border.

KeyBank Center sits just about five miles from the border, and the Sabres have a strong Canadian fan base.

Buffalo goes into Game 5 with a 3-1 lead over the Boston Bruins in the best-of-seven first round matchup.
