The Texas Stars went 1-1-0 in a two-game series with San Jose over the weekend. The Stars are 7-5-1 on the season and sit in fourth place in the Pacific Division.
Forward Denis Gurianov scored his first AHL goal over the weekend and has been on a nice run, picking up points in four of the past five games.
Texas now hits the road where they will play their next four games and seven of the next eight.
Friday, November 11: Texas 5, San Jose 3
Travis Morin scored two goals, and Denis Gurianov registered one goal and one assist as the Stars defeated San Jose, 5-3, at H-E-B Center Friday night. Gurianov's first AHL goal, which came from the slot at 2:20 of the third period, gave Texas a 4-1 lead and proved to be the game-winner.
"I felt great. So happy we won," Gurianov told media after the game.
Mattias Backman and Mike McMurtry also scored for the Stars. Max Lagace got the start in goal and stopped 29 of 32 shots.

Saturday, November 12: San Jose 8, Texas 5
The Stars lost a wild one Saturday night at H-E-B Center, falling 8-5 to San Jose. The game went back and forth through the first 40 minutes, and the Stars took a 5-4 lead into the third period, but the Barracuda scored four times in the third, including two empty-net goals, to take the two points. Brandon DeFazio scored two goals for Texas and Brendan Ranford, Dustin Stevenson and Mike McMurtry also scored. Remi Elie recorded three assists. Max Lagace got the start in goal but was pulled eight minutes into the second after allowing four goals on 21 shots. Philippe Desrosiers played the rest of the way and stopped 16 of 18.

Goaltender Landon Bow, who is under contract to the Texas Stars, went 1-1-0 over the past week. He stopped 30 of 32 shots in a 4-2 win over Adirondack on Saturday. Bow is 5-3-1 with a 2.91 goals-against average and .911 save percentage.
Defenseman Miro Karjalainen, a Dallas draft pick who is under contract to Texas, made his North American pro debut in Saturday's game against Adirondack. He had no points, two shots on goal and an even rating.
