The Colorado Avalanche on Saturday recalled forward Mikko Rantanen from San Antonio of the American Hockey League.
Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon was to be re-evaluated Saturday after leaving a 4-3 shootout win Friday against the Calgary Flames with a knee injury.

Rantanen, 19, was selected by Colorado in the first round (No. 10) of the 2015 NHL Draft and was scoreless in six games earlier this season with the Avalanche. He has 21 goals and 52 points in 44 AHL games.
Colorado plays the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday (9:30 p.m. ET; SN1, ALT, NHL.TV).
