Winnipeg Jets Mark Scheifele and Jacob Trouba didn't have to break out any pirouettes for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet but they did get a chance to take center stage in "The Nutcracker."
Scheifele and Trouba had walk-on roles at the ballet's final performance of the season on Friday when they participated in a game of pond hockey during Act 1.
Wearing rollerblades, Trouba and Scheifele dashed across the stage in their minute-long cameo, taking two faceoffs and shooting a fake puck to each other before leaving the stage.
The walk-on role has become a tradition in Winnipeg with the ballet inviting high-profile community members on stage for a brief Act 1 cameo. Trouba and Scheifele were the first Jets players to appear in the show.
