ISLANDERS NOTES:

-- The Islanders enter Wednesday's action on a two-game point streak, beating the Detroit Red Wings 3-2 on Saturday, while earning a point in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday.
-- Cal Clutterbuck and Jordan Eberle both left Monday's game in the third period and did not return. The Islanders did not skate on Tuesday, so their status' - as well as Tom Kuhnhackl and Luca Sbisa's - remain unknown.UPDATE: Clutterbuck and Eberle are in. Kuhnhackl is out. Leo Komarov is a game-time decision. Josh Ho-Sang is expected to make his season debut if Komarov can't play.
-- Josh Bailey leads the Islanders with 24 points (7G, 17A) in 29 games.
-- Mathew Barzal drew his 15th penalty; moving him into the top-5 in the NHL in that category. He has drawn an NHL-leading 55 penalties since the start of last year.

GOLDEN KNIGHTS NOTES:

-- Vegas have won three of their past four games, most recently beating the Dallas Stars 4-2 on Sunday. Vegas (35 points) is tied with Dallas (35 points) for the second wild card, but the Stars have played two fewer games.
-- The Golden Knights are a different team at home vs on the road. Vegas is 10-3-1 on home ice, but are 7-11-0 off The Strip.
-- Jonathan Marchessault and William Karlsson co-lead the Golden Knights with 23 points apiece.
-- Paul Stastny practiced with the Golden Knights on Tuesday and reportedly could return to the lineup against the Islanders on Wednesday. Stastny has been sidelined since Oct. 8 with a lower-body injury, only playing three games with Vegas after signing as a free agent over the summer. UPDATE: Stastny is a game-time decision.
- Marc-Andre Fleury will start for Vegas. Fleury is 17-10-1 with a 2.51 GAA, a .908 SV% and a league-leading five shutouts.
