Charlie Lindgren made 22 saves for the Canadiens, who lost their first six games; they have one remaining, at home against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday. Paul Byron scored twice for Montreal, at 13:32 of the first period and shorthanded 10:25 into the second for a 2-1 lead. Andrew Shaw scored 1:13 into the third. Evgenii Dadonov scored with 3:00 remaining in the first period for Florida. Roberto Luongo made 20 saves.
