NEW YORK --The Detroit Red Wings scored the final four goals in a 6-3 win against the New York Islanders at Barclays Center on Tuesday.

Trevor Daley's goal at 10:03 of the third period broke a 3-3 tie.
Martin Frk, Gustav Nyquist, Anthony Mantha, Mike Green and Luke Glendening also scored, and Henrik Zetterberg had three assists for the Red Wings (13-13-7) in the first of four straight road games against Eastern Conference opponents. Detroit won its second straight game and is 3-1-2 since a 10-1 loss at the Montreal Canadiens on Dec. 2.

"Obviously we put that one behind us and moved forward," Green said. "I think that sometimes when you go through that, you find your humility and grow from there. I think we've gotten better slowly here and we're starting to find our way."
Petr Mrazek made 34 saves for the Red Wings.
Anders Lee, Ryan Pulock and Josh Bailey scored for the Islanders (18-13-3), who lost their first game when scoring first (11-1-0) and are 3-6-1 in their past 10.
New York outshot Detroit 23-4 in the second period and 37-22 for the game.
"I liked our first two periods. I just didn't think we were very good in the third," Islanders captain John Tavares said. "We played right into their hands. We were a little sloppy and got too aggressive at times. It's kind of been the same story. We play some good hockey and then we give too many point-blank chances and then we rely on our goalies to make grade A saves multiple times. Good first two periods. Obviously maybe we deserved a better fate but we didn't go out and dictate in the third like we needed to."
Daley's game-winner was his second goal in two games. He received a drop pass from Zetterberg and beat goalie Thomas Greiss high to the blocker side.

"It wasn't real glitz and glamour necessarily, but I thought it was a big [free agent] signing," Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said of Daley, who signed a three-year contract July 1 and played 22:39. "It gives [us] another guy who can play top-four minutes. It certainly slots people in better spots than we were certainly by the end of last year."
Lee made it 1-0 at 6:32 of the first period. Bailey chipped the puck into the corner, where Tavares forced a turnover on the forecheck and backhanded a pass in front to Lee, who spun and scored his Islanders-leading 21st goal.
Frk tied it 1-1 at 9:33 of the first, and Nyquist put the Red Wings ahead 2-1 with a power-play goal at 16:49 of the period. Zetterberg drew two Islanders players behind the net and fed an open Nyquist, who beat Thomas Greiss to the short side with a one-timer.
Pulock tied it 2-2 at 2:03 of the second with a shot from the top of the left face-off circle off a pass from Jordan Eberle.
Bailey gave the Islanders a 3-2 lead with a power-play goal at 12:59 of the second, set up when Mathew Barzal's between-the-legs pass deflected off Detroit forward Justin Abdelkader's stick and found Bailey.
Mantha tied it 3-3 at 15:15 of the second after the Islanders couldn't clear the puck. Green made it 5-3 at 14:12 of the third, beating Greiss high to the glove side, and Glendening scored into an empty net to make it 6-3 with 29 seconds remaining.
Greiss made 16 saves for the Islanders, who played without defenseman Calvin de Haan (upper body).

They said it

"We just talked about the fact that [the first two periods] wasn't good enough and our guys had an understanding of it. You don't want to not play good enough, but we weren't good enough. Through the first two periods we were fortunate to be in the game. I thought we came out in the third and played great. I thought we really played hard, played to win, we made lots of plays, we skated and we won lots of puck battles." -- Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill
"I don't think we were in our zone very much today to be honest with you. We had the puck, we should have had the lead. Credit to them, they played a pretty good third, actually. We played two really good periods, thought we were fine. It's disappointing." -- Islanders coach Doug Weight
