Howard, Bernier create festive masks with reindeer, gingerbread house

If Jimmy Howard and Jonathan Bernier hadn't already made the holiday nice list, the Detroit Red Wings goalies holiday masks should put them over the top.

They recently unveiled some exceptional, holiday-themed helmets. Howard's mask resembles a holiday present, complete with a reindeer, and Bernier's is painted to look like a gingerbread house in the spirit of the season.

The masks were painted by David Gunnarsson of DaveArt. Gunnarsson's son Lowe came up with the idea for Howard's mask, which even has a gift tag that says "To Jimmy, from Santa."

Bernier's brown mask, which was unveiled Saturday, subtly features the Red Wings logo and his No. 45. It also has his signature lion head on top.

Howard has had the gingerbread-themed mask each of the past two seasons, going back to a red-colored helmet for the first time since 2015.
