Danny DeKeyser put the biscuit in the basket, but this time it traveled over grass, not ice to get there.

The Detroit Red Wings defenseman scored his first hole-in-one, which netted him a free two-year lease on a Porsche Boxter at their training-camp golf outing in Traverse City, Michigan.
"I'm an OK golfer," DeKeyser told
The Detroit News
on Friday. "I have good days and bad days. But it was one of those good days."
DeKeyser said he used a 9-iron on the par-3, 155-yard 17th hole at The Bear course at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. Watching the ace disappear into the hole was a euphoric moment that resulted in an epic celebration.

"I was going right at the stick. It was a pretty good shot," DeKeyser said. "I didn't know distance wise if it was going to be there or not. It landed like 12 feet behind the hole and started spinning back toward the cup and it missed the closest-to-the-pin stick by like an inch. Then the guys were 'It's rolling back! It's rolling back!' and then it disappeared in the cup.
"I just flung my club to the side and kind of did a few laps around the tee box."
The car wasn't DeKeyser's only victory of the day. He also won the outing's long-drive competition and earned a new driver.
