Rogers Hometown Hockey: Cranbrook, British Columbia

Sportsnet 1 will televise "Rogers Hometown Hockey" on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET, prior to the game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Carolina Hurricanes. The location this week is Cranbrook, British Columbia, and the show will celebrate the history of hockey in the city.
Among the features airing on the show:

* Scott Niedermayer and Rob Niedermayer grew up in Cranbrook and played on youth teams together. Each had a successful NHL career; Scott won the Stanley Cup four times, including with the Anaheim Ducks in 2007 when he got to hand the Cup to Rob, a moment the brothers will never forget.
* Ron Ellis scored the first goal in Game 6 of the 1967 Stanley Cup Final, when the Maple Leafs defeated the Montreal Canadiens for their most recent championship. He discusses one of the NHL's longest Cup droughts.
* A look at Fort Steele, British Columbia, a gold rush boom town in the 1860's. It opened to the public in 1969 and millions of tourists have visited to take horse-drawn carriage rides, blacksmithing demonstrations, ice cream making, gold panning and leather working.
* A look at the Ktunaxa Hockey Program, which focuses on educating kids about hockey and providing them with equipment to play.
