The Columbus Blue Jackets are on a 14-game winning streak, the longest in their history, and a seven-game win streak on the road. They face the Minnesota Wild, who have a franchise-best 12-game winning streak, on Saturday. The Blue Jackets are tied for the third-longest winning streak in NHL history, joining the 1929-30 Boston Bruins and 2009-10 Washington Capitals. The 1992-93 Pittsburgh Penguins hold the NHL record with 17 straight victories. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Saturday will mark the first time in NHL history two teams played against each other on double-digit winning streaks. The Blue Jackets haven't lost since Nov. 26, a 2-1 shootout defeat against the Florida Panthers. They have outscored opponents 57-24 during the streak. "It's pretty incredible," forward Brandon Saad said. "It's been fun every day coming to the rink. [We're] taking it game by game but the wins keep piling up and now we got a barn burner here [Saturday]. It should be fun to be a part of. We're all excited for it." Saad has five points (three goals, two assists) during a four-game point streak. Despite the winning streak, coach John Tortorella said there still are improvements he'd like to see. "I think we have to button it up," Tortorella said. "We probably gave up 17 or 18 scoring chances [against the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday] and some of the missed opportunities weren't even on goal. We have to button it up a bit here … we certainly have to be better at playing away from the puck and with some more determination." Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky will start. He is 12-0-0 and has allowed 20 goals in his past 12 starts. His last loss also was Nov. 26.
