Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews, won't play because of an upper-body injury sustained in the second period of the Blackhawks' 2-1 loss at the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday. Toews didn't participate at practice in El Segundo, California, on Thursday and is listed as day to day. He is questionable for the game at the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday. "Obviously, he's got so much responsibility, not only as our leader and captain, but the ice time he gets," right wing Patrick Kane told the Blackhawks website Thursday. "He plays in all situations, we know that, but injuries happen in this game." Defenseman Duncan Keith also missed practice, but is expected to play. Rookie Vincent Hinostroza, who filled in for Toews at center on the top line against the Sharks, played the same role in practice. Corey Crawford will start in net for Chicago, which is 2-3-0 on its annual "Circus Trip" with two games remaining.
