Teuvo Teravainen

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Teuvo Teravainen had surgery on Thursday after the forward broke his left hand in the third period of the Carolina Hurricanes' 4-3 overtime win against the New York Islanders in Game 2 at PNC Arena on Wednesday.

Teravainen sustained the injury when his glove was hit by the stick of Islanders center Jean-Gabriel Pageau while taking a shot from the top of the left face-off circle with 4:24 remaining in the third.
"He's out. He got slashed, he broke his hand," Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour said Wednesday. "With the puck, takes a shot, Pageau] absolutely tomahawk chops him. Go take a look at the video. He's out for the series. He has to have surgery tomorrow. There you go. So, I'm a little [ticked], to be honest with you."

Sebastian Aho and Seth Jarvis in the first two games of the best-of-7 series. He was plus-2 and had two shots on goal in 14:41 in Game 2. He did not play in overtime.
