ANAHEIM --Rickard Rakell scored two goals, and the Anaheim Ducks ended a four-game winning streak for the Boston Bruins under new coach Bruce Cassidy with a 5-3 victory at Honda Center on Wednesday.
Rakell scored his Ducks-leading 24th goal to make it 4-3 with 2:34 left in the third period, and Andrew Cogliano was credited with an empty-net goal with 49 seconds left after Torey Krug hooked him from behind on a breakaway.

The five goals matched Anaheim's total over its previous four games.
"It was nice to get the bounces tonight," Rakell said. "We've been having a tough time over the last couple of games."

Boston's Frank Vatrano tied the game 3-3 at 11:35 of the third when he got behind Anaheim defenseman Josh Manson, took a stretch pass from David Krejci, and beat goalie Jonathan Bernier with a low wrist shot.
The Ducks (32-20-10) scored three goals in the second period after trailing 1-0 on Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo's goal at 9:02 of the first.
Manson gave the Ducks their first lead, 3-2, when he scored on the rebound of Nick Ritchie's wraparound at 13:12.
Rakell tied it 2-2 at 7:42 on his first goal of the night. He carried the puck from center ice into the Boston zone before it was poked off his stick. The puck went to teammate Corey Perry in the slot, and he quickly passed it ahead to Rakell, who stuffed it between goalie Tuukka Rask's pads.

Anaheim tied it 1-1 at 2:03 of the second period after a dump-in hit Boston defenseman Colin Miller and the puck stayed along the boards. Ryan Getzlaf gained possession and passed it into the middle to Ondrej Kase. Ritchie and Kase worked a give-and-go, and Kase scored when his shot went in off the inside of the right post.
Boston (30-24-6) regained the lead at 6:55 when defenseman Zdeno Chara scored on a slap shot through traffic from just inside the blue line to make it 2-1.
Cassidy was hired as Bruins coach Feb. 7, when Claude Julien was fired.
"You just hate to come all the way back and get scored on late in a game like that," Cassidy said.

Goal of the game

After a faceoff between Rakell and Patrice Bergeron, David Backes skated into the left circle, took possession of the puck and passed it to Carlo at the right point for a slap shot that beat Bernier for his fifth goal.

Save of the game

With the game tied 1-1 and the Bruins on the power play, Brad Marchand passed the puck across the top of the crease. Bernier stuck out his right leg to try to stop the pass but didn't come close, leaving an open side of the net for Bergeron. Bernier dove back, and because Bergeron was unable to elevate the puck, Bernier was able to stop it with his stick along the ice at 4:54 of the second period.

Highlight of the game

With the Bruins on the power play, Getzlaf sent Ryan Kesler in for a shorthanded chance, but Rask got his chest in front of Kesler's shot from the left circle at 7:45 of the third period. The rebound came back to Kesler with Rask far out of his crease. Kesler appeared to have room to collect the puck and swing around Rask for an open net, but Rask stuck out his stick and dragged the puck into his body, keeping the Bruins within a goal.

Unsung performance of the game

Manson not only scored his second goal in three games, but he also made some big plays against Marchand. When Marchand brought the puck into the Ducks zone with speed late in the first period, he stayed with the Bruins forward and broke up the play. Manson put the biggest hit of the night on Marchand at 4:22 of the third period.
