TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forward Ilya Mikheyev to a four-year contract worth an AAV of $3.85 million today, vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois announced today.
Mikheyev, 31, played in 77 games with the Chicago Blackhawks last season, recording 18 goals and 36 points while averaging 17:26 in time on ice per contest. He ranked fourth on Chicago for points and was tied for the team lead with a plus-2 rating.
The Omsk, Russia native has played in 427 career NHL games with Chicago, the Vancouver Canucks and the Toronto Maple Leafs, amassing 98 goals and 201 points. He has scored 20 goals or more in a season twice in his career.
Mikheyev was signed by the Maple Leafs as a free agent on May 6, 2019. He previously played for Avangard Omsk in the KHL before coming to North America.
