PlayerOfTheWeek-1920x1080 (7)

With games against Colorado and Arizona postponed, what was originally supposed to be a three-game trip out west for the Bolts last week turned into a sole matchup against the Golden Knights in Vegas.
Although it was shorter than originally planned, Gabriel Fortier made it a memorable trip. The rookie scored his first career NHL goal on Tuesday at T-Mobile Arena, as the Lightning rallied for a dramatic 4-3 win over the Golden Knights in their final game before the holiday break.

TBL@VGK: Fortier buries wrist shot for first NHL goal

With the game still scoreless in the opening stages of the first period, Mikhail Sergachev pinched at the left point and forced a turnover. With the Golden Knights now out of position, Fortier took a feed from Sergachev at the left circle and snapped a well-placed wrist shot past Laurent Brossoit at the near post for the first goal and point of his NHL career.
Fortier has now appeared in eight games with the Lightning since getting his first NHL call-up on November 29.
