Bolts erase deficit, defeat Panthers in overtime

Brayden Point scored 3:12 into overtime to lift the Lightning to a 5-4 come-from-behind win over the Panthers in Sunrise on Saturday night.
Trailing 4-1 midway through the second period, however, it looked like the Bolts were headed towards a loss to their in-state rivals.

The Panthers built the lead with a pair of goals 11 seconds apart in the first period. Frank Vatrano opened the scoring and Aleksander Barkov doubled the lead right after the ensuing faceoff.
After Alex Killorn scored to pull the Bolts back within one, Jonathan Huberdeau and Evgenii Dadonov both tallied to build the Panthers' lead to 4-1 eight minutes into the second period.

But just as they've done several times already this season, the Lightning responded.
Mathieu Joseph and Nikita Kucherov both scored goals six minutes apart late in the second to give the Bolts life headed into the third period.
The Bolts kept the pressure up in the third and Cedric Paquette was rewarded with another key goal late in a game. With less than nine minutes remaining, Paquette cut in front of the Panthers net and had the puck deflect off a Florida defender's skate and into the net to tie the game for the Bolts.
After forcing overtime, Point won it for the Bolts with his goal midway through the extra frame. With Vatrano sitting in the box for interference, Kucherov fed a cross-crease pass to Point who roofed his shot past Reimer to steal both points for the Bolts.
With a goal and two assists, Kucherov extended his point streak to nine games. Point also extended his point streak to five games.

Making his 10th consecutive start in goal, Louis Domingue made 23 saves, including some key stops down the stretch to help the Bolts force overtime.
The Lightning continue the road trip on Monday night in New Jersey vs. the Devils.
