Dion Phaneuf Handshakes LA Kings

As the LA Kings face the Nashville Predators tonight, Kings defenseman Dion Phaneuf will reach an NHL milestone, playing his 1,000th regular season game.
Phaneuf, who is in his second season with the Kings, will be the 326th player to NHL history to reach 1,000 games played.
The Kings are
scheduled to honor Phaneuf at STAPLES Center
when the Kings return home and host the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday. The pregame ceremony honoring Phaneuf will be broadcast live on FOX Sports West.

Phaneuf enters tonight's game having played in 999 career regular season games with four different clubs - the Kings, Calgary Flames (2005-10); Toronto Maple Leafs (2009-2016) and Ottawa Senators (2015-18). He has also played in 55 career NHL playoff games, including four postseason games with the Kings.
He has 489 career points (136-353=489) and 1,307 career penalty minutes.

The Kings acquired Phaneuf and Nate Thompson from the Senators last season on February 13
in exchange for Marian Gaborik and Nick Shore

Phaneuf is the 56th player that has competed for the Kings to reach the milestone and the 21st player to accomplish the feat in a Kings uniform. Kings forward Dustin Brown played in his 1,000th game last season and Kings captain Anze Kopitar is 61 games shy of the mark.
