Join the Carolina Hurricanes for the 20th annual Caniac Carnival at PNC Arena on Sunday, Sept. 29. The event features FREE admission to an NHL preseason game (ticket required -- waitlist available here) and FREE parking, plus discounted food and beverage on select items.

The Hurricanes will host the Washington Capitals at 1:30 p.m. The Canes' preseason finale is general admission: All seats are open to the public, but a ticket (waitlist available here) is required for entry.

The Caniac Carnival will also feature activities for fans of all ages, including inflatable rides, interactive games and booths, a kid's zone, sports area, live music, appearances by Stormy and the Pepsi Storm Squad and more!

John Forslund will host a State of the Hurricanes discussion at 12 p.m., featuring guests Goaltending Coach Jason Muzzatti, Head Coach Rod Brind'Amour and President and GM Don Waddell. During the intermissions, Mike Maniscalco will chat with Vice President of Hockey Management and Strategy Eric Tulsky and Director of Player Personnel Darren Yorke. Following the game, there will be a live interview with a Canes player.

10:00 a.m. Caniac Carnival begins (The Eye and PNC Arena's box office will open at this time)

12:00 p.m. State of the Hurricanes, hosted by John Forslund, feat. Jason Muzzatti, Rod Brind'Amour & Don Waddell

3:00 p.m. Caniac Carnival ends

During the Caniac Carnival, the Hurricanes will be collecting much-needed toiletries and other items to benefit Boys & Girls Homes of North Carolina and InterAct. Donations will be accepted at all entrances of PNC Arena, in front of the box office and inside the VIP entrance.

Items needed include:

  • Hair brushes
  • Body wash & soaps*
  • Lotions/Vaseline & deodorants*
  • Batteries (all sizes)

*Need full-sized items and a variety for all ages, skin types and gender identities

All fans who donate will be entered to win one of the following prizes:

  • Four (4) tickets to a 2019-20 Hurricanes home game*
  • Carolina Hurricanes replica jersey signed by the 2019-20 team
  • Carolina Hurricanes replica hockey stick signed by the 2019-20 team
  • Carolina Hurricanes replica hockey stick signed by Sebastian Aho #20
  • Andrei Svechnikov #37 autographed photo

The Carolina Hurricanes Foundation will hold a special sale during the Caniac Carnival. Swing by the Foundation's kiosk at section 129, where there will be a variety of unique Hurricanes memorabilia available for purchase. Items include but are not limited to: autographed photos, locker room name plates, rally towels and more!

Items are available on a first-come, first-served basis. All proceeds benefit the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation.

FAQ: Free Preseason Game

All tickets have currently been claimed for the preseason game. Please complete the waitlist request form if you'd like to be made aware if additional tickets become available.

Yes. All available tickets have been claimed. Access the ticket waitlist here! 

Note: Fans may reserve up to FOUR (4) tickets. Tickets may only be claimed online, and are not available at the PNC Arena Box Office.

No. All full, 22 and 11-game plans will receive a ticket via their Caniac Account Manager. The tickets will be loaded to the account in early September. All tickets to this game will be digital.

All available tickets have been claimed. Access the ticket waitlist here! 

The event is general admission. All areas of PNC Arena will be general admission, excluding suites. Please visit the Carnival timeline for when PNC Arena will open. There will be reserved Handicap accessible seating. We ask that all fans keep these areas open for our guests that require handicap seating.

If the event is not sold out, a limited amount of tickets may be available via the Hurricanes box office on the day of the event. However, due to the expected demand, people are encouraged to claim tickets prior to the date while supplies last.

No. Parking is free and will be available on a first-come, first-served bases. Please note, due to the Caniac Carnival, the VIP lots will not be open for parking.
