VGK Morning Skate Notes:
Inside The Room: Chicago Wolves Head Coach Rocky Thompson
On what he wants to see when Vegas plays San Jose (from postgame 9/8/18)...
I want to see us to be more consistent with what we did in the first period and not get away from that. We got rattled with the one goal that didn't go in, that rattled us. We just got away from our game. We can't be cheating, that's not the way we play. We have to play hard. We had to shorten our shifts and be more consistent in the positive things in our game. That will be re-insisted tomorrow. We will show a few video clips back. It will be a process.
Keys To The Game:
1. Consistency: Vegas strayed from its game plan last night. After jumping out to a 5-0 lead, the team allowed six goals for a final score of 7-6. They'll look to tighten up the defense throughout Sunday's game. 2. Physicality: Ryan Wagner and Tyler Wong led the physical charge for the Golden Knights. They're two of the smaller players on the team, but Thompson encourages their physicality. 3. Rebounds: In San Jose's first game, Zachary Edmond made 33 saves to shutout the Coyotes. Whether it's Edmond, Max Paddock or Josef Korenar who starts for the Sharks on Sunday night, the Golden Knights will have their hands full getting pucks through to the San Jose net and getting to rebounds.
