The Philadelphia Flyers announced today they have agreed to terms with forward Carl Grundstrom on a one-year contract worth an average annual value (AAV) of $1M, according to General Manager, Daniel Briere.
Grundstrom, 28 (12/1/97), was acquired by the Flyers on October 5, 2026, and began the 2025-26 season with the team’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. He played 19 games with the Phantoms before spending the rest of the year with the Flyers, where he recorded 13 points (9g-4a) in 47 games.
In 2025-26, Grundstrom ranked third on Philadelphia with 139 hits, and he recorded a career-long four-game goal streak from December 22-30, 2025 (4g).
The 6-foot, 200-pound forward has played parts of eight NHL seasons with Philadelphia (2025-26), San Jose (2024-25) and Los Angeles (2018-24), tallying 89 points (52g-37a) in 339 career games. Grundstrom has recorded three goals and three assists through 20 career NHL playoff games.
He has also played parts of five AHL seasons with Lehigh Valley (2025-26), Ontario (2018-20, 2023-24), and Toronto (2018-19), accumulating 87 points (36g-51a) in 118 career AHL games.
The Umea, Sweden native played parts of four seasons (2014-18) in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), Sweden’s top professional league, before coming to North America. He has represented his country at four IIHF World Championship tournaments (2026, 2024, 2023, 2022) and three IIHF World Junior Championships (2017, 2016, 2015).
