The Philadelphia Flyers will host a rookie game against the New York Islanders on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 7 PM at the Wells Fargo Center. The game will be free and open to the public; however, a ticket is required for admission. Parking in the Wells Fargo Center lots will also be free of charge.
"We're extremely excited about the upcoming season and the terrific young talent in our organization," said Flyers president Paul Holmgren. "Playing this game at the Wells Fargo Center is a great opportunity to open the event to the community and give our fans a chance to see some potential future Flyers in action."
This is the second time the Flyers have held a rookie game in the club's home arena. The last occasion was six years ago on Sept. 15, 2011, when the club hosted the Washington Capitals rookies and earned a 3-2 win in front of over 10,000 fans.
The game marks the unofficial end to Rookie Camp and often features many of the Flyers and Islanders recent draft picks battling in front of management and fans before each team's main camp opens.
