"As someone who gets to do what I love for work every day as a Flyers broadcaster, I wanted to share this special experience with families who could use some light and positivity in their lives," said Flyers broadcaster Jim Jackson. "I reached out to the Flyers to see what we could do, and they exceeded my expectations by creating a season-long initiative that provides families with an amazing experience."
The Flyers hosted the Hamlin family as the first guests of Flyers Press Pass initiative. For six Flyers home games throughout the season, the program will host a family through Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for an exclusive Flyers game night experience. Flyers Press Pass gifts families with four tickets to watch the game from a private broadcasting booth on press row, offers a pre-game Zamboni ride, and sets up visits from special guests, including members of the team.
"Starting with Mr. Snider, the Flyers organization has always prioritized supporting children and families impacted by cancer, and the Flyers Press Pass program builds on that legacy by providing a local family with an unforgettable, truly unique Flyers experience," said Valerie Camillo, CEO of Spectacor Sports and Entertainment. "From meeting Flyers players, alumni, and broadcasters to experiencing a game from a private broadcast booth, we're honored to help local children and families battling cancer have a fun-filled night together."
The Flyers will host their next Flyers Press Pass family on November 21 at the Flyers' Hockey Fights Cancer Night.
