Anaheim and San Jose will meet for the third time in eight days on Monday night. The Ducks opened the preseason schedule a 6-3 win over the Sharks on Sept. 25 at Honda Center. San Jose evened the score Thursday, overcoming an early Anaheim shorthanded goal to earn a 3-1 comeback victory.
"We want to go out there and see the guys are playing with confidence and making plays," defenseman Hampus Lindholm said of the Ducks' focus for the final three exhibition games. "That's what this league is about. You can't just be chipping it on the boards and dumping it in. You're going to have to make plays too, and play within our structure.
Anaheim's
training camp roster
includes 58 players (32 forwards, 19 defensemen and six goaltenders). The Ducks will conclude their preseason schedule this week with a home-and-home series against the Kings, Wednesday, Oct. 6 at Honda Center (7 p.m.) and Saturday, Oct. 9 at Staples Center (7:30 p.m.)
San Jose's lineup could include some familar faces for Ducks fans, including Nick Bonino and Andrew Cogliano. Bonino, who Anaheim originally acquired from San Jose in a March 2009, played his first 189 career games with the Ducks. The 33-year-old forward scored in San Jose's win Thursday at Honda Center. Cogliano signed a one-year contract with San Jose in the offseason after two years with the Dallas Stars. Cogliano played 589 games in a Ducks game sweater and co-owns the club's all-time records in shorthanded points (16) and shorthanded goals (10).
The Sharks are 2-2-0 in the preseason.
