Richards won't be back with Red Wings: report

Forward Brad Richards and defenseman Kyle Quincey likely will not return to the Detroit Red Wings next season, general manager Ken Holland told the Detroit Free Press on Thursday.
Holland said he told, "Brad Richards and Kyle Quincey that I definitely won't sign them before July 1, if at all."
Richards and Quincey can become unrestricted free agents July 1.

Richards, 36, signed a one-year, $3 million contract with Detroit on July 1, 2015. He had 10 goals and 28 points in 68 regular-season games, and one goal with a minus-4 rating in the Eastern Conference First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, when the Red Wings were eliminated in five games by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
In 15 seasons with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Dallas Stars, New York Rangers, Chicago Blackhawks and Red Wings, Richards has 298 goals and 932 points in 1,126 games, and 37 goals and 105 points in 146 playoff games. He won the Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks in 2015 and Lightning in 2004, when he had 12 goals and 26 points in 23 games to win the Conn Smythe Trophy.
Quincey, 30, had four goals and 11 points in 47 games this season. He also had one assist in four playoff games.
