Just because you have to stay home, doesn't mean you can't take a little trip up to Minnesota. In this week's Out Of Office, we check in with the one and only Chico Resch to see what he's been up to during the pause.

2. READING

I am catching up on some books I started but never finished and re-reading some old favorites. I'm re-reading Stan Fischler's
Confessions of a Trolley Dodger from Brooklyn
and a few nonfiction historical books like Stephen Ambrose's
Undaunted Courage
, and David McCullough's
The Great Bridge
and
Morning on Horseback
.

3. CHICOANGELO

Next on my schedule is to work on some projects my wife thought would help fill my time. I am almost done painting a cathedral ceiling. Just before I finished painting the ceiling though, she thought we should tear up some old flooring. Please let hockey start again and SOON!

4. MID-DAY STROLL

In the afternoon I take a walk with my wife. We are in the woods in Emily, Minnesota, which is a village with a population of 840 people, so you would think that we could go for a walk without worrying about social distancing. Not so! Check out the Trumpeters.

5. REMINISCING

Like you, I miss hockey. I miss broadcasting the game with my buddy Matty Loughlin. I miss interacting with the Devils fans, the employees at Prudential Center, and the employees in the Devils office. Hockey will return. Life will resume, but for some life will be forever altered. Today, I am remembering Judge Conte, a victim of COVID-19. He was a long time Devils fan, but an even greater husband, father, and man.
