Earlier this week,
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced that indoor venues can allow fans up to 10% of capacity
. That means that a limited number of Devils fans will be allowed to attend games starting this Tuesday, March 2 when the Devils play the Islanders.
Devils forward Jack Hughes was asked about the return of fans.
"It's going to be really exciting. It's the start of hopefully one of these days having a full arena and getting back to normal," he said after practice today.
Hughes was also asked whether he notices the fans. He said he stays pretty focused while play is going on but otherwise, yes.
"When you're at home, there's momentum shifts and the crowd goes crazy over a hit or a shift and you can notice in that aspect. You'll also notice in TV timeouts."
