Beagle

It's been 3,645 days since Jay Beagle made his NHL debut and tonight in Philadelphia he'll play his 500th NHL game.

I mentioned this to Beagle before Vancouver played in Colorado to open their current four-game trip, but he was quick to shush me. The 33-year-old is never looking to the future; he takes each day as it comes, each game as it comes, each shift as it comes.
It's what makes Beagle, Beagle.

Biking with Beagle

The undrafted Calgarian is the only player to have won championships in the NHL, AHL and ECHL, so not looking ahead and living in the moment has clearly worked out for him.
Before Vancouver's morning skate in Philly Monday, I asked Beagle again if he was ready to talk about the big game. He wincingly grabbed his thigh, as a joke, saying he's not sure he'll play tonight.
He's in alright, and he'll be flying.

PREGAME | Beagle at Flyers

Expect the Beagle coverage to ramp up as the Canucks travel to Washington to face the Capitals Tuesday. Beagle was an integral part of the Caps winning the Stanley Cup last season and he hasn't stepped onto the ice at Capital One Arena since helping Washington win Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final 6-2. That put the Caps up 3-1 in the series with the clincher being won in Vegas.
"He'll be buzzing for sure," Capitals forward Tom Wilson told @Capitals Monday. "I don't think anyone outworked Beags the the whole time I played with him. He was great to me, took me under his wing and kind of showed me the way. He's an outstanding person and one of the best teammates you could ask for and he's going to do his best to make our lives difficult tomorrow night."
You can say that again.
First things first: take down the Flyers.
