Canucks Agree to Terms With Jett Woo on One-Year, Two-Way Contract

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the club has agreed to terms with defenceman Jett Woo on a one-year, two-way contract.

Woo, 22, spent the entire 2022.23 season with the Abbotsford Canucks (AHL), compiling 21 points (7-14-21) in 68 games played. The third-year pro led all Abbotsford skaters in penalty minutes (96) and took another step forward in his development, setting career-highs in games played, goals, assists, points, game-winning goals (2), and shots (105). He also matched his personal best plus-minus rating (+7) and was voted Unsung Hero by the fans.

After leading all Abbotsford defencemen in games played during the regular season, Woo also played in all six of his club's Calder Cup playoff games, collecting six penalty minutes and nine shots on goal. In 138 regular season games across three career AHL seasons split between Abbotsford and Utica, Woo has recorded 34 points (12-22-34), 149 penalty minutes, and a +8 rating.

Prior to his professional career, the 6'0", 205-pound defenceman played 242 regular season games in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Moose Jaw Warriors and Calgary Hitmen, registering 160 points (33-127-160), 230 penalty minutes and a +60 rating. A product of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Woo has represented Canada on multiple international occasions, including earning a gold medal at the 2017 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament and a silver medal at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games.

Woo was originally selected by Vancouver in the second round, 37th overall at the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
