MONTREAL -- The Canadiens were dealt a 4-2 loss by the Jets on Monday night at the Bell Centre.

Nick Suzuki was dressed to impress ahead of his 200th career NHL game.
The 22-year-old is enjoying another stellar campaign for Montreal.

With Jake Allen on the sidelines because of a lower-body injury, Sam Montembeault was given the start. Cayden Primeau served as the backup.
It was Montembeault's 34th start of the year.

There were no goals to report in the first period.
Montembeault was particularly solid on this sequence, denying Adam Lowry from a prime scoring position.

The Canadiens opened the scoring just 29 seconds into the middle frame when Joel Armia buried a loose puck past Connor Hellebuyck for his sixth goal of the season.
Christian Dvorak and David Savard assisted on the tally.

The Jets responded with a pair of goals courtesy of Morgan Barron and Paul Stastny.
Winnipeg led 2-1 after 40 minutes.
Montembeault was solid again in the second stanza, making multiple highlight-reel stops, including this one.

Josh Anderson scored the equalizer at the 6:19 mark of the third period, redirecting a point blast from Jeff Petry past Hellebuyck.
Anderson's 18th goal of the season was also the 100th goal of his NHL career.
Suzuki assisted on the tally, too.

Evgeny Svechnikov scored the go-ahead goal for Winnipeg, though, before Lowry added an empty-netter.
Montembeault finished the game with 31 saves.
Up next for the Canadiens is a matchup against the Blue Jackets on Wednesday night in Columbus.
