Following the contest, forwards Brendan Gallagher and Tomas Tatar, goaltender Carey Price, and interim head coach Dominique Ducharme spoke with reporters via Zoom.
Here are a few highlights from their respective chats:
Gallagher talked about the play of his line with Tatar and Phillip Danault against Vancouver:
Desperation mode is going to pick up here. You want to be the guys that are counted on. We got put in a lot of situations to have the opportunity to help the team out tonight, and it was a good feeling to be able to do that. Going forward, hopefully you continue to have that sort of effort. You're not always going to have the results that we had, but the effort needs to be there.

He also discussed the impact of the trio on his own play as well:
I think the three of us have had a lot of fun playing together over the last few years. They're a big reason for my success. You always want to make it work. The three of us just enjoy playing together. I think it works when we're on the same page and we're going. Those two guys make my life a little easier.

Tatar, meanwhile, reflected on his shootout winner:
The last time I tried a move and it didn't work, for some reason I got some heat from people. It's a shootout. You try to fool the goalie. I don't see any difference between the move I did before and now. I'm very happy to put it in. I believed that Carey would make that save. I think we just did a way better job in the OT. We controlled the puck. The shootout is a lottery again. We were very happy with the win. It was a big rollercoaster game. We stayed with it, and it's a big two points.

He was also asked to share his thoughts on the way Gallagher goes about his business on the ice:
He's a little pitbull. He's very strong around the net. He might be one of the best in the league at the job he does. He reminds me of Tomas Holmstrom a lot. He's very strong around the net. You don't see many players doing the job he does, and he does it so well. It's his area. He knows how to reach there, how to battle there. I ask him a lot of times for tips, how he tips shots, how he creates chances out of nowhere. He's just really good around the net. To be honest, I wish I could do that. He's one of the rare players who does it. I think he's very valuable for the team.

For his part, Price was pleased that the group finally secured a win beyond regulation time:
It's definitely nice to get the proverbial monkey off our back. I guess now we can just move on, and if we have another one, try and win that one.

Price commented on Gallagher's leadership ability, too:
Gally's an awesome teammate. His work ethic speaks for itself. He's always very supportive off the ice and he's fun to hang around with. Over all these years, we've had a lot of great times together, and I appreciate him sticking up for me, too.

It goes without saying that Ducharme was impressed with the Tatar-Danault-Gallagher combination:
They played a big game tonight. I thought we played a good game collectively. But, we paid the price for our mistakes. We didn't give up much. We had a lot of scoring chances, but when we made a mistake, they capitalized.

With respect to Tatar, the Habs' bench boss was happy to see him step up with a big weapon out of action:
We need him. We know what kind of player he is. He can do a lot up front. With a player like Tyler Toffoli out, we needed a guy like him to have a good game. It was important.
