Hockey returns to Enterprise Center on Saturday when the St. Louis Blues host the Dallas Stars in their preseason opener at 6 p.m. CT.
Jordan Binnington, Pius Suter, Alexey Toropchenko, Otto Stenberg and Theo Liindstein are part of the group expected to play in Saturday’s game. Newcomer Ross Johnston, who signed with the Blues in free agency in the offseason, is expected to make his first appearance in the Blue Note.
The Blues will play four preseason contests before opening the regular season on the road on Oct. 2 in Dallas. The NHL limited the preseason to just four games but expanded the regular season to 84 games (up from 82).
Blues Head Coach Jim Montgomery gave some insight into how he'd structure his game rosters for the preseason schedule.
"[Saturday vs. Dallas] will probably be the least amount of veterans dressed. We'll get a look at some of our young prospects," Montgomery said. "Game 2 we're going to have our first power-play unit go, Game 3 we're going to have our second power-play unit go, and the last game is going to be both units going, so that's going to be our team playing in the last game."
Tickets for Saturday’s preseason game are available online at Ticketmaster.com.
Fans within the Blues broadcast territory can watch the game live at stlouisblues.com or in the Blues App. Chris Kerber and Joey Vitale will also call the action on 101 ESPN (101.1 FM).
