Matt Calvert activated off injured reserve

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated Matt Calvert off Injured Reserve, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Calvert has missed the past five games with an upper body injury.

Calvert, 26, has registered two goals and an assist for three points with 12 penalty minutes and an "even" plus/minus rating in 17 games with the Blue Jackets this season. He has notched 55-58-113 and 204 penalty minutes in 299 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets since making his NHL debut in 2012-13. The Brandon, Manitoba native recorded career highs in games played, shots (114) and points (tied) with 11-13-24, 51 penalty minutes and was +1 in 73 games with the Jackets in 2015-16. He was the Jackets' fifth round pick, 127th overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft.

The Blue Jackets, who are 7-1-2 in the past 10 games to improve to 13-5-4 on the season, return to action on Saturday when they visit the Arizona Coyotes. Game time at Gila River Arena is 8 p.m. ET.
