Semyon Varlamov Colorado Avalanche Florida Panthers 120917

Semyon Varlamov will start in goal this evening for the Colorado Avalanche's game against the Florida Panthers at Pepsi Center.
Varlamov was named the NHL's First Star for the previous week after going 3-0-0 with a 1.34 goals-against average, .964 save percentage and posting one shutout. He is 4-1-0 in his last five starts, which included making 41 saves in Friday's victory at the Chicago Blackhawks, his most recent appearance.

The Avalanche acquired forward Derick Brassard from the Panthers earlier today, but it's unknown at this time if he will suit up or where he'll be slotted in the lineup if he does.
Tonight is the second and final meeting of the season between Colorado and Florida. The Avs won 5-2 in the previous matchup on Dec. 6 in the Sunshine State.
Below is the Avalanche's projected lineup based on the forward combinations and defensive pairings from the start of Saturday's game at the Nashville Predators. They are subject to change.
