Third Jersey Reverse Retro Jersey Graphic Schedule

The Colorado Avalanche will wear its Reverse Retro and third jerseys six times each during the 2020-21 regular season. The Avs' Quebec Nordiques-inspired Reverse Retro sweater will debut when the team takes on the Vegas Golden Knights as part of the NHL Outdoors at Lake Tahoe event on Feb. 20.
The third jersey will be worn for all remaining home games against the Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues, beginning with the two-game set versus Minnesota on Feb. 2-4 at Ball Arena.

Blending both the past and present, the Reverse Retro jersey is based on the uniform the organization wore during its time in Quebec City as the Nordiques. The crest features the iconic Nordiques igloo logo, modernized in the Avalanche's color scheme. The hem showcases the return of the fleur-de-lis symbol, modeled from Quebec's provincial flag, with a fleur-de-lis patch also placed on the shoulder.
One of the few Reverse Retro jerseys in white, the sweater is a nod to the snow found in both northern Quebec and the Colorado Rocky Mountains, the franchise's two homes.
The jersey design also includes a wide burgundy stripe at the waistline of the sweater and narrower burgundy stripes at the end of each sleeve's hemline--the same design used on the Nordiques' original home uniforms. Inside the wide collar, which is colored in burgundy, are other details blending the franchise's past and present.
On the back neck is the text 'COL' and '79'--representing the year Quebec entered the NHL--with the adidas' colorful reverse retro mark in between.

The Avalanche's third jersey was originally debuted during the team's 20th anniversary season and the fan-favorite sweater returned in the 2018-19 campaign. The jersey was worn for the first time on Oct. 24, 2015 at home versus the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Inspired by the logo of the Colorado Rockies NHL team that played in Denver from 1976-1982, as well as the state's topography, the Avalanche's third jersey is both a statement of regional pride and hockey history. The middle crest features the "C" from Colorado's state flag and places it in the center of a triangular mountain design, representative of the terrain of the Rocky Mountains. Additionally, the navy-base jersey has white shoulder yokes to evoke the look of snow-capped mountain peaks, while a shoulder patch of the Colorado state flag sits atop the left shoulder.
The adidas adizero authentic jersey will be accompanied by matching pants, gloves and helmets as well.
