FRISCO, Texas -- The Dallas Stars and the City of Farmers Branch formally announced today the construction of StarCenter Multisport Farmers Branch, a multi-purpose athletic facility adjacent to Children’s Health StarCenter Farmers Branch. The 81,780 square-foot facility on over three acres is scheduled to open in December of 2024.

The StarCenter Multisport Farmers Branch is expected to serve more than 50,000 unique youth athletes annually with the ability to configure up to eight basketball courts or up to 16 volleyball courts at one time, depending on sports programming for the day.

As a leader in youth and recreational sports with over 80,000 active participants and 8.5M visitors per year through their nine facilities, the Dallas Stars’ investment in multi-sport properties is the next step in their reach beyond their core ice-related customers into additional youth sports for athletes across the Metroplex.

“From our initial discussions about this new facility, Mayor Lynne and the city of Farmers Branch have shared our vision for creating a unique athletic space that can benefit individuals of all ages,” Dallas Stars President and CEO Brad Alberts said. “The new multi-sport facility will provide geographic benefits for sports teams based in the area and become a premier community sports hub. The demand for youth sports in North Texas continues to grow and we are excited to be a part of it through this new chapter in our partnership with Farmers Branch.”

"Farmers Branch and the Dallas Stars have a longstanding partnership that's provided a marvelous ice hockey facility for the Stars, amateurs, youth leagues and local families,” City of Farmers Branch Mayor Terry Lynne said. “It's been a fantastic win-win investment for the City and the Team. We want to grow that collaboration and provide another world-class athletic venue here in Farmers Branch, and the Stars are the ideal professional team to help us do it."

This will be the second multi-sport facility in the Dallas Stars’ portfolio of athletic facilities, along with the eight Children’s Health StarCenters across the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. In October 2022, the Stars purchased The MAC in Lewisville, Texas as the club’s first investment in multi-sport facilities. A 38,000-square-foot, air-conditioned multi-sports activity center, the MAC features eight USA Volleyball regulation courts, four NBA regulation hardwood basketball courts, a full concession stand and food court area. The facility is also home to Texas Advantage Volleyball (TAV), one of the most successful club volleyball organizations in the United States.

Construction on the project will be overseen by Lee Lewis Construction, Inc. (www.leelewis.com) which has four offices in Texas and has been a leader in commercial construction since 1976.
