balcers

While we continue to await direction on the start of the 2020-21 NHL season, they're playing professional hockey over in Europe.

And with it a number of Senators have been getting ice time including Vitaly Abramov, Rudolfs Balcers, Erik Brannstrom and Filip Chlapik.
So, how are they doing through the first month of the season? Let's have a look.
Vitaly Abramov - Jukuirit (Liiga, Finland)
Abramov has had a flying start to life in Liiga. After sitting out due to his mandatory quarantine, he made his season debut Oct. 15 and made his presence felt immediately, scoring twice including a game-winning penalty shot. He followed his debut up with another two-goal output and currently has seven points (five goals) in just six games, including a five-game point streak that ended his last time out.

Rudolfs Balcers - Stavanger Oilers (GET-ligaen, Norway)
Balcers has cruised so far with the Oilers, tallying a goal and four assists in just four games. The Latvian had a goal taken away from him that could have added more to his statistics but the 23-year-old continues to rack up the points. Balcers isn't back in action with the Oilers until Nov. 12 due to a break in the action.
Erik Brannstrom - SCL Tigers (Swiss NLA, Switzerland)
Brannstrom has settled in quickly in Switzerland, playing at a point-per-game pace so far through five contests that includes two goals, including an overtime game-winner. His five points have him in a tie for seventh place in Swiss scoring amongst defencemen. Brannstrom will be sitting for a little while though due to a Covid-19 case within the Tigers set-up, with the team scheduled to be in quarantine until at least Nov. 7.
Filip Chlapik - Sparta Praha (Czech Extraliga, Czech Republic)
Chlapik has only played three games for his hometown team, scoring once in the process. The Czech Extraliga has been shut down since mid-October due to climbing Covid-19 cases in the country, and as of writing, that shutdown won't be lifted until the middle of November.
